The 2007 Agno Picnic in
Toronto
Catching
sight of Agnoans getting together anywhere in the world is really an
inspiring and enriching experience. There are about 40 or 50 families or 150
Agnoans residing in the greater Toronto area alone. With this in mind some
of the younger folks thought of having a picnic this summer to give a chance
for everyone to unwind from their daily jobs and a chance to meet everybody.
The picnic was organized by Imma Natata Romano, Norman Navalta, Voltaire
LaGuardia and Ramil Pajatin. Everybody who attended also gladly contributed
their share to make the event successful. Everyone had a good time with lots
of food, lechon, pina-paitan, kilawen na baka, pinakbet, inihaw na bangus,
and many more Filipino dishes, cakes and native delicacies. After seeing
different kinds of people of other races around the world, and Toronto is
famous as the most multi-ethnic city in the world where you can hear more
than 100 languages spoken in the many beautiful parks within the city, I can
see that our own folks exceed the best of them in looks, modest bearing,
warmth and hospitality.
